Hey Brides to be, let’s talk lippies! It’s important to find the right lipstick for your wedding day, although your makeup artist will have an array of shades to go with your look, there’s no reason why you can’t invest in a good lipstick. If you have a specific look you are going for, there’s no harm in buying the lipstick and asking the artist to use it! Whether it’s the traditional Asian bridal red your going for and a contemporary nude.. here’s are top 5 long lasting lipsticks to help you make that important decision.
Mac - Ruby Woo
Ruby Woo: Described as a long-wearing lipstick with intense colour payoff and a completely matte finish and a very vivid blue red. This shade of red will go with most traditional Asian bridal wear. This is such a lovely colour, perfect against olive skin tones and can be worn whatever shade of skin you are. A very classic Red.
Kylie Jenner - True Brown K
True Brown K: Described as a deep chocolate brown. The ’90s-inspired, matte liquid lipstick is ideal if your going for a rustic vintage look. This shade will definitely compliment any bronze or antique work you have on your outfit and warm up any look.
Giorgio Armani - Maharaja
Maharaja: Described as a neutral-toned, dark fuchsia with a pearl finish. If you really want to make a statement with your look, then this is the shade for you. I would definitely recommend this for your Walima event, it’s bold, fun and showstopping.
Accompanied with warm rosy cheeks, you will look like a real life doll.
With it being a pearl finish, I cannot recommend exfoliating the lips enough to ensure you have a smooth application.
Charlotte Tilbury - Pillow Talk
Pillow Talk: Described as a neutral, rosy lipstick with a matte-yet-moisturising finish. I love this colour, it’s perfect! Not only can you rock it for everyday wear, this would like great for a reception or engagement ( Nikkah ).
This would be flattering on most skin tones and would look stunning with darker complexions.
Chanel - Adrienne ( 402 )
Adrienne: Described as a moderately warm-toned, medium-dark peach with a natural finish. Now I must admit, this colour may not be flattering on all skin tones and would be better suited with paler skins or someone with a light tan. If your wearing the traditional bright green, yellow or orange for your mehndhi then I would opt for a warm tone like this. It’s understated and will accompany the traditional colours we opt for henna parties. Imagine rocking rosy pink cheeks, plaited hair and floral accessories. The perfect combination.
I would also use a clear lip gloss with Adrienne for a juicy lip-smacking finish.
